RADOVICH BUCHIM CELEBRATES 10 YEARS WITH THE SOLWAY FAMILY

This year, the celebration of Macedonian Miners day was even more notable for Radovich Buchim OOO than usually. During the last weekend of August 2015, OOO Radovich Buchim not only celebrated its 35th anniversary but also 10 years since the mine joined Solway Investment Group.
During the day of celebration, the Minister of Economics of the Former Yugoslavian republic of Macedonia, Neziri, came to Buchim to acknowledge the significance of the enterprise’s input into the country’s economic growth.
"Miners represent an invaluable source of employment, and we are obliged to provide the best conditions to reward those who work here for their dedication and professional responsibility", said Neziri. He also acknowledged “the most successful” - 16 miners nominated by their employers for their achievements in the past year.
Buchim Deputy Director General and Chairman of the Association of Mining of Macedonia, Nikollajço Nikolov, expressed his gratitude for Buchim being chosen as the main location for the central Miners Day celebration this year.
"In the past few years, Buchim have paid a gross salary of 37 million, and fee concession of 7.5 million euros. Currently, the mine employs over 700 workers whose average net salary for 2014 was around 440 euros" said Nikolov, adding that the business also allocates substantial funds for social infrastructure development in Radovish and the wider region.
In a note to the Buchim employees Dan Bronstein, Solway Investment Group CEO, expressed his gratitude to the miners for their loyalty to the company and professionalism for the past 10 years. He also confirmed that Solway would remain devoted to the social responsibility principles the Group announced upon entering the Macedonian market in 2005.
